Mindsets for Learning – NEW book

What Do You Do with a Problem

Last year I started a recommendation list entitled “Mindsets for Learning”.  My first recommendation of the year for this list would be, What Do You Do With A Problem? by Kobi Yamada author of  last year’s Sakura Medal nominee What Do You Do With An Idea? This book would make a great beginning of the year book when classrooms are forming a learning community and establishing mindsets.

Book’s Message:  “Every problem has an opportunity for something good.  You just have to look for it.”

This book would pair nicely with Anything Is Possible by Giulia Belloni.

Summer Reading is a Bundle of Fun!

Don’t forget…summer checkout for the ASIJ elementary library is June 6th-8th!  Students and families can check out a maximum of 25 books each.  Books are due back August 29th.

Every summer has a story…summer travels are about more than trips to the beach, theme parks, and camping. Take your children on unforgettable journeys in their imaginations with reading. All it takes is a “bundle of books” and a commitment to read every day. Vacation reading will keep students’ learning moving forward — and there’s no better time for them to develop a lifelong habit of finding pleasure in books.

So make books part of your vacation fun. What will your family’s summer reading “story” be?

Hundreds of books are free online too!
